National Minority Health Month and Advancing Health Equity

Date: April 7, 2022

In April, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of Minority Health recognizes National Minority Health Month to build awareness about health inequities in underserved and marginalized communities. CMS offers resources to help eliminate health disparities, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are offering Spanish-language resources to promote healthy eating. Additionally, the University of Arizona Health Sciences recently reported Agnes Attakai’s appointment to the National Rural Health Association’s (NRHA) Health Equity Council, which highlights issues related to underserved rural populations including LGBTQIA+, veteran, and homeless residents as well as multiracial and multicultural community members. Are you dedicated to bringing quality health care to underrepresented populations?
