Description: As part of Missouri Department Health and Senior Services’ (DHSS) implementation strategy to End the HIV Epidemic (EHE), the DHSS is seeking to expand, develop, engage, and support community engagement with health department staff by addressing health equity and stigma. This workshop will provide best practices and considerations for strengthening the understanding and practice of cultural humility with African Americans and men who have sex with men (MSM).
The intended audience for this workshop includes disease intervention specialist (DIS) workers, prevention management and staff, care teams, contractors, and EHE staff and partners.
Furthermore, DHSS staff will be able to build more culturally competent messaging, outreach strategies to promote and recruit hard to reach populations, and strengthen community buy-in and relationships/partnerships.
