In June 2022, HUD announced the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to Address Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness (Special NOFO), which makes $322 million in competitive funding available to communities to address unsheltered and rural homelessness. Funding is available for permanent housing, street outreach efforts and other supportive services, and Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS). CoCs will need to demonstrate a comprehensive community approach to reduce homelessness among people experiencing homelessness with severe service needs, especially those with histories of unsheltered homelessness.

Applications must be submitted by October 20, 2022, at 8:00 PM EDT. For more information about this Special NOFO please visit HUD’s Special NOFO site.
