HHS Mask Distribution Program

April 30, 2021

The Department of Health and Human Service s(HHS) and the Department of Defense are partnering to distribute free masks to Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-supported health centers and Health Center Program look-alikes. The HHS Mask Distribution Program provides high-quality, washable cloth masks in youth and adult sizes, packaged in pairs of two and manufactured consistent with updated mask guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These masks should be distributed free of charge to patients, health center staff, and other individuals within the community.

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is currently sending shipments of masks to the administrative address on record in the Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) for health centers that did not opt out of the program. The health center’s Project Director listed in the EHBs should expect to receive an email from DLA with a FedEx tracking number a day or two prior to shipment. Health centers will need to ensure that staff are available to receive the masks.

If you have questions about the HHS Mask Distribution Program or would like to provide feedback on the masks received, please use the BPHC Contact Form. Additional information about the program is available on our COVID-19 FAQ webpage.
