3RNet Recruiting for Retention Academy – October 1

The 3RNet Recruiting for Retention Academy is the only online training specific to recruitment and retention for rural and underserved communities. This six-part webinar series features practical, action-oriented content for health care employers using a workshop-type approach.

The Academy offers access to live webinars featuring national experts on clinician recruitment for rural and underserved areas.  Six 90-minute sessions will take place every other week this fall from October 3 to December 12. The program is open to anyone with an interest in rural recruitment and retention, and is designed for safety net facilities such as Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Health Clinics.

RHC Learning Network – Developed for Missouri RHCs

You and your team are invited to the 1^st Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Learning Network developed for Missouri RHC’s.

The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care has provided funding to support the RHC Learning Network. This funding will cover 1 hotel stay and mileage travel expenses for those RHC’s that attend the RHC Learning Network and are outside of the Jefferson City area.

The goal of PROMPT is to:

• Support RHCs/rural practices in transforming rural clinic practices to meet the ever-changing demands within the healthcare landscape
• Improve clinical quality data capture and reporting
• Improve quality performance and patient care in rural Missouri

PROMPT Learning Network topics include:

• Highlighting RHC’s
• Sharing of best practices
• Subject matter experts

There is no registration fee and lunch will be provided at no cost.

Free Training and Technical Assistance Opportunity

You are invited to join the Primary Care Tobacco Cessation Health Systems Change Community of Practice (CoP). This is a great opportunity to receive free training and technical assistance to advance your tobacco cessation practices for individuals suffering from health conditions exacerbated by tobacco/nicotine use. The CoP is supported in partnership by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) and the Missouri Primary Care Association.

Whether your organization is starting to consider implementing tobacco use disorder (TUD) and nicotine-free policies or you want to continue integrating TUD into standard care, this CoP may be an excellent fit.  As a participant, you will receive support and training to meet the individualized needs of your organization.  National TUD and health systems change experts from the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine will facilitate a peer learning environment where you will have the opportunity to set goals, share ideas, and overcome barriers with your peers from other Missouri primary care organizations.

This CoP is a low-burden opportunity for your organization to address TUD and assist many of your patients with improving their health.

• It is anticipated that the CoP will consist of about 2-3 hours of monthly activity.
• The CoP will begin in early September with an Introduction Webinar on August 30^th, 2023 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Become a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional

The National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC) is offering Directors, Clinic Administrators & other RHC leaders a unique full-spectrum course designed to teach you how to operate a successful Rural Health Clinic. Upon course completion & attainment of an 80% or higher exam score, you will earn a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional (CRHCP) designation.

Enrollment:

This course is offered twice a calendar year. Enrollment begins approximately 10 weeks prior to the date of the Final Exam taking place online.

Registration for the 2023 CMS National Training Program (NTP) virtual workshops is now open.

July 2023

• 18^th – Drug Coverage When Using Medicare

This workshop will explain drug coverage under the different parts of Medicare and describe how Medicare drug coverage (Part D) works, coverage rules, eligibility, enrollment, and Extra Help.

• 19^th – Medicare Advantage

This workshop will explain Medicare health plan options other than Original Medicare with a primary focus on Medicare Advantage (sometimes called Medicare Part C).

• 20^th – Medicare for People with Disabilities

Qualifying for Medicare based on a disability is different from qualifying based on End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or age. This workshop will explore the enrollment process and unique scenarios like returning to work while getting disability benefits. We’ll also discuss programs that can help with medical costs.

August 2023

• 1^st – Coordination of Benefits

This workshop will explain different payers’ responsibilities when people have both Medicare and certain other types of health and/or prescription drug coverage.

• 2^nd – Medicare Scenarios (Casework Session)

This workshop will walk through examples of Medicare coverage scenarios in a casework format to evaluate the case, review possible resources and options, and discuss appropriate solutions.

• 3^rd – Medicare for People with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)

This workshop will explain Medicare for people with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). It includes information on eligibility and enrollment, coverage and health plan options, and provides additional resources.

• 8^th – Medicare & Tax-Favored Health Programs

This workshop will explain tax-favored health programs and basic information about how those programs work with Medicare.

• 9^th – Medicare Plan Finder

This workshop will demonstrate how to shop and compare Medicare plan options using Medicare Plan Finder on Medicare.gov.

• 10^th – Medicare Current Topics

This workshop will explain CMS current priorities, initiatives, and recent programmatic updates.

NOTES:

• Registration requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis until each session reaches capacity. The number of attendees from the same organization may be limited. If any session reaches capacity, we’ll work to schedule an additional offering for a later date.
• Session materials will be available for download at the time of the events.
