Missouri Telehealth Network

The Missouri Telehealth Network’s Show-Me ECHO program builds learning communities of health care professionals who serve patients across Missouri. Show-Me ECHO facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration on topics various topics in adult and child clinical care, behavioral/mental health, community efforts, and education. Project ECHO fundamentally changes the way knowledge is shared to ensure the latest research and best practices reach every citizen in every corner of the state, especially rural and underserved populations.

Through videoconferencing technology, each month, professionals discuss participants’ cases and collaborate to share strategies and solutions. More than 7,500 healthcare professionals have participated over the years in more than 67,000 hours free instruction. There are over 40 different ECHO programs to choose from at no cost to participating sites or individuals. Many ECHOS also provide free continuing education credit for qualifying professionals.

The Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Program – HRSA-23-014 increases the number of primary care nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and certified nurse midwives providing primary care services, mental health and substance use disorder care, and/or maternal health care.

COMING SOON! Funding Opportunity for Delta Hospitals

The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) has a new funding opportunity coming soon.

Delta Health Systems Implementation Program

This program provides funding to critical access hospitals, small rural hospitals (inpatient prospective payment system facilities with up to 100 beds) in the Mississippi Delta region that have received previous technical assistance (TA) through the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development Program or another similar TA program within the last five years.

Hospitals will implement projects aimed to improve health care in rural areas through projects focused on:

  • Financial and operational improvements;
  • Implementation of quality improvement initiatives;
  • Expansion of telehealth services and financial/operational systems enhancements;
  • The development of new service lines to address the needs of the community, including populations in the community that have been historically underserved.

Conference – 2023 Missouri Immunization Conference

The 2023 Missouri Immunization Conference brings together bright minds to give talks that are action-oriented on a wide range of subjects related to immunizations to foster learning and inspiration, as well as provoke conversations that matter and actions that lead to increased vaccination rates for Missourians. The theme of this year’s conference is Vaccines: The Building Blocks of Better Health.

Participants will:

  • Self-report increased confidence in their ability to advocate for vaccinations against preventable diseases
  • Self-report an increase in knowledge about evidence-based strategies designed to address vaccine hesitancy, and combat misinformation
  • Self-report increased confidence in their ability to educate patients on vaccine preventable diseases
  • Self-report increased knowledge of key legislation and policies designed to improve the equitable distribution of adult vaccines

Last Week to Register: DHSS Hosted Virtual Community Forum – March 14 – PrEP and Ending the HIV Epidemic

Please join the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) at an upcoming community engagement forum to discuss and inform the efforts to end the HIV epidemic by 2030. DHSS and the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) partners want to hear the barriers encountered to prevent, diagnose and treat HIV and understand how to improve services. Each event will include a presentation on the current Ending the HIV Epidemic activities and encourage candid feedback to end the epidemic together.

The Bureau of HIV, STD, and Hepatitis wants to hear your thoughts on how to end the HIV epidemic in Missouri and how best to serve those living with HIV.
